Create the Shortcut on Your iPhone

This takes about 2 minutes. You only need to do it once.

Open Shortcuts App

  1. Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone
  2. Tap the + button (top right) to create a new shortcut
  3. Tap the shortcut name at the top and rename it to Server Status

Add the URL Action

  1. Tap Add Action and search for Get Contents of URL
  2. Tap the URL field and paste the Full API URL from above
  3. Leave Method as GET (default)

Extract the Spoken Text

  1. Tap + to add another action, search for Get Dictionary Value
  2. Set Key to spoken
  3. Make sure the input is Contents of URL (should auto-connect)

Make Siri Speak

  1. Tap + to add another action, search for Speak Text
  2. Make sure the input is Dictionary Value (should auto-connect)
  3. Done! Tap X to close and save

Try It

  1. Say "Hey Siri, Server Status" and Siri will speak your server's load and memory
