Create the Shortcut on Your iPhone
This takes about 2 minutes. You only need to do it once.
Open Shortcuts App
- Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone
- Tap the + button (top right) to create a new shortcut
- Tap the shortcut name at the top and rename it to
Server Status
Add the URL Action
- Tap Add Action and search for
Get Contents of URL
- Tap the URL field and paste the Full API URL from above
- Leave Method as GET (default)
Extract the Spoken Text
- Tap + to add another action, search for
Get Dictionary Value
- Set Key to
spoken
- Make sure the input is Contents of URL (should auto-connect)
Make Siri Speak
- Tap + to add another action, search for
Speak Text
- Make sure the input is Dictionary Value (should auto-connect)
- Done! Tap X to close and save
